Darren Aronofsky’s next major project is one of biblical proportions.
The Black Swan director is starting to shoot Noah in New York and Iceland in the summer, and word is they are shooting for a PG-13 MPAA rating which means it won’t be too graphic.
News came down today that two great female actresses Saoirse Ronan and Jennifer Connelly will star in the film alongside Russell Crowe, who will play the lead, Noah.
Reports are saying that Connelly will be playing Crowe’s wife, Naameh, this is the second time she will star alongside Crowe as the two put on a tour de force in A Beautiful Mind. Ronan’s role is unknown but it’s assumed that she will play one of the wives of the three sons Noah had.
Aronofsky Noah will be portrayed as “a man who loves Earth and all of its animal inhabitants, but has become disillusioned with the way humans have treated their planet.” It is also believed that the story will focus on Noah’s alcoholic tendencies and there is even a part for an antagonist who is against the ways of our title character.
There is a tentative release date of March 28th, 2014.
