For a film that’s based on a very controversial book, this trailer is rather tame.
The Perks of Being a Wallflower is about an introverted high school freshman, played by Logan Lerman, who finds acceptance in two senior students, played by Emma Watson, and Ezra Miller (We Need to Talk About Kevin).
The film also stars Nina Dobrev, Paul Rudd and Mae Whitman.
It’s just rather surprising that a book that has been protested and banned at some schools, based on it’s content of sex, homosexuality, suicide and more – can be so ordinary in the trailer that is suppose to entice people to see it.
The Perks of Being a Wallflower hits theaters on September 14th, 2012.
