I had an opportunity to see this last summer and passed, wish I didn’t. Now the film which is finally finished will go big time and showcase at this year’s Sundance Film Festival which kicks off next week.
Director Jeff Nichols, who brought us films like Shotgun Stories and Take Shelter has developed a bit of a following and now he has Matthew McConaughey starring in his latest effort “Mud.”
Co-starring Reese Witherspoon, Tye Sheridan, Sam Shephard and Michael Shannon, the film tells the story of the eponymous fugitive who forms an unlikely friendship with a pair of Arkansas teens who help him evade capture and reunite with his soulmate Juniper.
Word is McConaughey is brilliant in the film, some who saw the film at Cannes last year calling it his best work yet. Mud hits theaters for the public in the Spring.
